No problems with B.A.T.S.

I am writing to comment on the criticism of Ms. Lucinda Marshall, manager of B.A.T.S. by Mika Maharani Anastasia of Oct. 24, 1998.

Over the past four years, I have been a regular patron of the Shangri-La and in particular B.A.T.S.

During the troubles in May this year, the effort of Ms. Marshall and her staff to accommodate patrons and also a large amount of people who were not regular patrons was quite exceptional and deserved the highest praise.

I personally and all my friends who regularly patronize B.A.T.S. have always found the security staff, bar staff, dining room staff, and in particular Ms. Marshall courteous, helpful and certainly not discriminatory to any person, be they foreign or indigenous.

Of course, there are always obnoxious patrons who only wish to cause trouble but I have never seen a brawl or fight in B.A.T.S. and Ms. Marshall has always handled troublemakers in a courteous and sensible manner.
