No good deed goes unpunished

JAKARTA: Only trying to help a sick friend, a police officer
ended up hospitalized with severe stab wounds.

The officer, identified only as First Adj. Brig. Er, 27, was
accompanying an ill colleague at the National Police
Headquarters, identified as Second Adj. Brig. Sm, 25, to a doctor
in Kelapa Dua, Ciracas district, East Jakarta, on Monday evening,
Antara reported on Tuesday.

When they arrived at the doctor's office, Sm refused to enter
and simply stood outside the building.

Er apologized to the doctor and told him that Sm was in
distress.

Overhearing the comment, Sm attacked Er, stabbing him in the
abdomen and arm.

Er was rushed to Tugu Ibu Hospital, while Sm was taken to the
Ciracas Police station for questioning. --JP
