No good deed goes unpunished

MADRID (DPA): A Spanish television cameraman risked his life to save a drowning man, only to find that his pants and credit cards had been stolen in the meantime, the daily El Pais reported on Tuesday.

Jacobo Ovalle, 21, saw a car plunge into Madrid's Manzanares River from a bridge on Sunday. He stripped, plunged in and managed to save the driver with the help of a fireman.

The exhausted hero returned to the river bank -- only to find that his pants, briefcase, credit cards and camera batteries were gone.
