Nissan deflates air bags

TORONTO: Nissan Canada has been quick to respond to U.S. concerns about air bag safety. It is marketing "depowered air bags".

These gentler acting-air bags will be fitted in Nissan cars, trucks and vans in the Canadian market. They deploy less violently than existing air bags.

Nissan's move follows the death of 32 people killed by air bag deployment.
