Nisa restaurant serves 'halal' food

HANOI: Finding pork-free food for Muslims is very difficult in Hanoi.

The Nisa restaurant may be one of the few that caters to the dietary restrictions of Muslims. Located on Huu Huan Street, the restaurant serves halal Indonesian, Malaysian and Indian cuisines, as it advertises on a placard at the restaurant's entrance. But visitors will have to pay a bit more for their specially prepared meals.

On their way back from supporting the Indonesian cycling team on Saturday, the country's entourage, including National Sports Council (KONI) chairman Agum Gumelar stopped by the restaurant for halal nourishment. -- JP
