Nike launches new driver

Sports equipment company Nike has introduced a new golf driver that it says stronger and more powerful than current titanium clubs.

Nike Golf Southeast Asia business manager CH Song said the Ignite Driver used "nexti-titanium" that was thinner and stronger than the current standard beta-titanium.

"The nexti face material is wrapped over the crown of the club head, which results in a strong spring of the ball," Song said in the launch ceremony at the PGA Driving Range here on Wednesday.
