Nico Pelealu wins FEI World Dressage

JAKARTA (JP): Leading Indonesian rider Nico Pelealu on his horse Loretto won the FEI World Dressage at Parongpong, Bandung, on Wednesday.

Pelealu was awarded a score of 381 point by the two judges in his group; judge C (191 points) and judge E (190 points).

Pelealu comes from SKJP Riding School in Jakarta.

Joifie Momongan (Tridan Stable Jakarta), on Eduardo Rex, was second with 374 points (183 191).

Third place went to Endaryanto (Porda Balaturangga), on Charles with 355 points (181 174).

Riders from 32 countries took part in the one-day dressage competition which was divided into nine groups, each group had two international judges.

They competition, directly sanctioned by FEI the world equestrian controlling body, was judged under the Testa Elementary Dressage Test system.

Indonesia was in Group 6 with Malaysia and India.

The Group 6 judges were Col. Henrich Erich of Germany and Hanns Iversen of Greece.

Indonesia was represented by 14 riders: Pelealu on Loretto, Joifie (Eduardo Rex), Endaryanto (Charles), Aditya Indra (Liberator), R. Widyanto (Cakrabuana), Indra Rosendi (Adinegoro), Yudi Irianto (Maruto), Andri (Sahari), Gutomo (Raung), Dadan (Mayoba), Nunut Setiowadi (Buana), Yustinus Adrian (Artic Nike), Pinkan (Gandaria) and Nasri Labonu (Boliohutu).

A dressage clinic was scheduled yesterday for the riders and their coaches.

Malaysia will hold the second dressage competition on Oct. 12 and India will host the third on Oct. 17. (lnt)
