NGOs to form security forum
JAKARTA: Tangerang-based Association of Institutions for Social Empowerment (LPM) will establish a communication network on public order and security in 13 districts and 104 subdistricts of Tangerang as part of efforts to tackle increasing crime, said the Association's Tangerang branch chairman.
"We will launch the network, Forum on Security and Order (FKK) in every village to help tackle crime," said Adi Warman, head of the Tangerang LPM, as quoted by Antara on Saturday.
He said that the crimes in Tangerang were mostly car and motorcycle theft. Even though many of the thieves had been mobbed to death by people, such thefts continue unabated.
Adi said the network whose members would be present in each neighborhood unit would help in providing early notification to the police over suspicious incidents.

Adi added that the network was expected to clamp down on crimes and help reduce the high number of mobbing incidents against suspected criminals by angry locals.--JP
