NGO to celebrate World Press Day

MAKASSAR, South Sulawesi: In conjunction with World Press Day,
which falls on May 3, a non-governmental organization (NGO) in
Makassar will screen 10 domestic and foreign films about the
media. The 10 films, including All The President's Men and The
Insider, will be screened in the Societed de Harmoni building in
Makassar between Friday and Sunday.

Muliadi Mau, program director at the Media Studies Institute,
said on Thursday that the screenings were aimed at fostering the
interest of people in watching films on the media. They were also
aimed at introducing to the public alternative films that
fostered freedom of expression. -- Antara
