Newborn found dead in gutter

BOGOR (JP): A newborn baby girl was found dead in a gutter by a passerby in Kampung Cibirus, Gadog village in Megamendung district at about 6:30 a.m. on Monday.

Gadog village chief H. Edi said one of the locals found the body on the way to a market that morning.

"The baby still had its placenta attached and was covered with blood," Edi said, adding that locals quickly reported the finding to the Cisarua Police.

Edi said the baby was probably dumped by someone outside the village. "The unwanted infant may have been discarded here to cover the tracks of the real parents," he said. (21/edt)
