New Swedish-made trucks
JAKARTA (JP): PT Harapan Mandiri Utama has launched the latest series of Swedish-made Scania trucks on the domestic market.
Company commercial director Sjahrial Ong said yesterday that some of the new series of Scania trucks were displayed during a three-day truck exhibition at the Jakarta Fairground last week.
"We have sold 200 trucks over the last three months and we are optimistic that we well reach our sales target of 500 this year," he said, adding that the state-run bus company DAMRI had ordered 20 of the new series to be operated at Tanjung Priok.
Sjahrial said the new trucks, mostly used in coal mining and for heavy-load transportation, are sold at between US$75,000 and $200,000 each. (rms)
