New routes to promote market

TANGERANG: The Tangerang municipal administration is expanding five minivan routes, obliging the vehicles to pass the newly opened Tanah Tinggi main market in an effort to boost business at the market.

The local development planning agency chief Affan Permana said that Tanah Tinggi market was expected to become the municipality's economic and trading center.

Affan said that since the facility was open three months ago, only a few residents visited the market due to the lack of public transportation in the area.

Minivans will ply the new routes starting Tuesday.--JP
