New reader's wish list

I am a new subscriber to The Jakarta Post. Your fairly brave
and matter-of-fact reporting style satisfies me. However, for
improvement, I would like to suggest that you provide more space
on the front page for news about former public figures.

I am of the opinion that the news coverage of Prof. Soenario's
death should have been placed on the front page of The Jakarta
Post.

Would you please respond to the following questions?

1. Is a special subscription rate available for a member of a
professional association? (I am a member of the American
Sociological Association and Indonesian Sociological Association,
among others).

Would you please tell me about the style guide currently used
by the Post. Ought the manuscript to be written in English?

subscription rate for associations. Articles written for
publication should be in English and in journalistic style.
Letters, however, can be written in Indonesian.
