New method cures drug addiction in 24 hours

JAKARTA (JP): A new method of curing drug addiction which promises recovery within 24 hours is now available in Indonesia at a cost of Rp 13 million for a treatment.

Linda Rahmat, an anesthecist with the Asa Bangsa Foundation which introduced the method in several Indonesian hospitals, said that Graha Medika hospital, where she worked, had successfully treated 200 drug addicts, aged between 14 and 50 years.

Linda was presenting the Accelerated Neo-regulation for Opiate Dependency (ANR) method at a seminar on drug addiction and the impact on family life which was organized by the foundation.

Formulated in 1985 by Andre Waismann of the Israeli Institute of Advanced Treatment and Research of Opiate Dependency in Tel Aviv, the method uses anesthetic medicines which have been approved by the U.S. Food and Drugs Administration (FDA).

Linda said the method is now available in several hospitals, including Graha Medika and Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital, both in Jakarta, Borromeus Hospital in Bandung, and the general hospital in Banyumas, Central Java. (04)
