New men at Semen Padang
JAKARTA (JP): State-owned cement manufacturer PT Semen Padang has a new president: A. Ikhdan Nizar, who was formerly chief of the company's general affairs department.
Nizar was formally installed at the Semen Padang office in Jakarta on Friday, replacing Abubakar, Antara reported.
The ceremony, witnessed by a number of shareholders, also saw the appointment of Brig. Gen. (ret.) Safroedin Bahar, formerly assistant to the minister/state secretary, as president commissioner. Safroedin replaced Effendi Sudarsono.
Abubakar and Syahrul Ujud, a former Padang mayor and currently assistant to the coordinating minister for people's welfare and poverty eradication, were also installed as members of the board of commissioners, the news agency said.
Semen Padang runs a plant near the West Sumatra town of Padang with an annual capacity of 3.5 million metric tons and sells to domestic as well as foreign markets including Bangladesh, Taiwan, Japan, Myanmar, Papua New Guinea and the Republic of Maldives. (02)
