New manager for Melia Purosani

YOGYAKARTA: The Spanish hotel chain Sol Melia has appointed Jean- Paul Riby as the new general Manager of Melia Purosani Hotel to replace Morten Andersen who has moved to Malaysia.

A native Frenchman, Riby has more than 20 years' experience in the industry. A graduate of a hotel school of management in southern France, he started his carrier in Monte Carlo. Melia Purosani is his first experience managing an international five- star hotel.

Speaking five languages -- Indonesian, English, Italian, Spanish and French -- in equal fluency, Riby has spent some 12 years in Indonesia.

"That is one of the reasons why he has a profound understanding about the Indonesian culture and language," hotel public relations manager Atik Damarjati said. --JP
