New mall on Jl. Daan Mogot

JAKARTA (JP): The construction of the 40,000-square meter Mal Daan Mogot shopping mall located in the Daan Mogot Baru housing complex in West Jakarta is slated to be completed on Oct. 6, said the developer.

Anton Suleiman, a commissioner of PT. Fajar Surya Perkasa, the developer of the three-story shopping mall, said yesterday that the project is costing Rp 80 billion.

Anton said that the topping off ceremony is scheduled for Oct. 6.

The mall is the first part of the whole Daan Mogot Baru complex which is costing Rp 600 billion.

Most of the shopping mall has been rented out by big retailing stores, including Yogya Department Store (occupying 13,000 square meters), and Hero supermarket (2,500 square meters, the supermarket's biggest chain), and tenants such as Cinema 21, Fashion and Optics stores and many others.

"As many as 26,000 families living around the mall will be the potential market," Anton said. (26)
