New layout of 'The Jakarta Post'

I have read a number of letters criticizing the new layout of The Jakarta Post. I must say that I agree that I find it problematic. I don't really know how to put it, but for some reason, I lose my appetite for reading every time I see the clean and nicely designed pages of the Post. Hence, I have literally not read the paper for some time now. I much prefer reading the Post on the Web, which appears more similar to the old Post.

I guess that you have made a decision on the new layout, and will not be able to do much to change it back again to the old one. I guess you expect us to understand this, and that we will just have to tolerate it, because now, The Jakarta Post is our only choice as an English newspaper.

Ironically, the new look of The Jakarta Post is more similar to the Indonesian Observer; many preferred the Post to the Observer because of its design. I guess you do not remember how long the Observer lasted...
