New KLM, Merpati routes

JAKARTA (JP): Starting on May 1, state-owned PT Merpati Nusantara and the Netherlands' KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will be serving new routes. Merpati will be flying Jakarta-Kuala Lumpur and KLM will serve Amsterdam-Surabaya.

According to Merpati, the new Jakarta-Kuala Lumpur route is part of the company's border-crossing programs meant to optimize its aircraft operations and bring in more revenues.

Meanwhile, a statement from KLM said its Amsterdam-Surabaya route will be combined with its flights to Denpasar, Bali, which are currently served via Jakarta. (pwn)
