New gallery inaugurated

JAKARTA (JP): The Association of Southeast Asian Nations
(ASEAN) Secretariat opened a new gallery here on Wednesday to
mark its 34th anniversary.

The gallery will showcase the Secretariat's art collection,
which consists of gifts from the 10 ASEAN countries, 10 dialogue
partners, as well as private companies, foundations and
individual artists.

"We'd like to put the gifts all together and display them for
the public," said Vic Lactaoen, ASEAN's senior officer for public
information.

The gallery is open to the public Monday to Saturday from 10
a.m. to 5 p.m.(06)
