New book on Jakarta Bay

JAKARTA (JP): A book entitled "A map of the Jakarta Bay" will
be launched today by Soefyan Tsauri, the head of the Indonesian
Institute of Sciences (LIPI).

The launching of the book, which contains up-to-date
information on oceanic life in the bay in North Jakarta, is being
held in conjunction with the 28th anniversary of the institute,
Antara reported yesterday.

For the time being, the book, published by the institute's
center for research and development of oceanology, will not be
sold publicly, said Setyo Pramono, the center's chief researcher.
The ceremony will take place at the institute's headquarters on
J. Gatot Subroto in Central Jakarta.

"For the time being the book will only be used by LIPI and
other state agencies, including the office of the Minister of
Environment, the City administration, the Agency for
Environmental Impact Analysis and a number of private social and
public institutions," Setyo said.(bas)
