New BMW car launched
JAKARTA (JP): PT Tjahja Sakti Motor, the sole BMW agent here, introduced the 7301LA yesterday, the first of the BMW 7-series on the Indonesian market.
The company's president, Jami Setiadi, said at the ceremony that his company will limit the assembly of the cars in Indonesia to 300 units per annum.
Yesterday's ceremony saw the first sale of the car to businessman Bambang N. Rachmadi. The 7301LA will list for approximately Rp 400 million.
BMW sales in Indonesia steadily increased from 1,414 units in 1992 to 1,573 units in 1993 and to 2,898 units in 1994.
Setiadi said the sales are expected to increase to 3,250 units this year. (rsl)
