Nestle's warehouse center

JAKARTA (JP): Food company PT Nestle Indonesia is developing a high-tech regional distribution center in East Java in anticipation of the fast growth of its product market in the country.

The 18,000-square-meter modern warehouse on 6.5 hectares is being built by PT Cardig Air and Wiley Indonesia, a branch of Wiley Planning and Construction Consultants of Australia, the company said in a statement.

Construction will be completed within one year, it added.

Nestle president director S.A. Issenmann said the warehouse was the first of its kind in the country using the high technology and would serve as a distribution center for finished goods produced by its facilities in East Java.

Construction of the regional distribution center is of great importance to the multinational company in anticipating the fast growth of its products in Indonesia, he explained.

Nestle Indonesia, part of the world's largest food group, entered the country in 1971, and now has five factories. (rei)
