Neighbors are happier

BUSAN, South Korea: The usually quiet, cold, businesslike Main Press Center (MPC) at the Busan Exhibition and Convention Center (BEXCO) building became a little bit merrier when Thailand's Bunluewong Pongsiree visited Thai journalists on Friday.

The 17-year-old Bunluewong won the individual jump test in the equestrian event contributing the second gold medal to the Thai contingent.

The Thai journalists looked excited to be visited by one of their gold medalists. While a contrasting atmosphere was felt by the Indonesians, witnessed their men's beach volleyball when they blew their chance to win a gold medal, after being defeated by Japan in the final match.

"It is just sad that I haven't heard the Indonesia Raya national anthem until the fifth day," Dendi Sundayana of Bandung- based Pikiran Rakyat daily was heard sighing upon seeing the happy face of Thai journalists.--JP
