Nat'l boxers leave for Cuba

JAKARTA (JP): Indonesian boxers being prepared for the Kuala
Lumpur 2001 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games left on Monday for Havana
to begin a 50-day training program.

The boxers are light flyweight Bonix Saweho, bantamweight Juan
Sapahipan, lightweight David Iskiwar, light middleweight Joko
Suryono, middleweight Henrik Simangunsong and light heavyweight
Albert Papilaya.

Coaches Messak Yawan and Carlos Jesus Penate Torres of Cuba
will accompany the boxers during the training program.

The Indonesian Amateur Boxing Association hopes to win three
of the 11 gold medals on offer in Kuala Lumpur. (nvn)
