It's been two years since the economy crunched our wages. Based on the dollar, previously we were earning two times more than we are now; it was generally been on a par with other countries. Granted, we have gained a 50 percent increase in wages, but the present 300 percent decrease in the rupiah has essentially destroyed our salary base. The crunch has also gleaned out the chaff and fly-by-nighters, and what is left is a fairly loyal and experienced core of instructors.
As a group together we should be able to exercise our influence and negotiate a substantial and fair increase for our labors. Let's start talking together as individuals, dissolve the ofttimes pervasive weak-spirited indifference that exists, cooperate as a cohesive community and encourage reciprocation from management for our continuing allegiance.
