National Supercross C'ships begin

JAKARTA (JP): The first leg of the 2000 Gudang Garam National
Supercross Championships will kick off on Feb. 19 and Feb. 20 in
Banjar Ciamis, West Java.

Promotor Helmy Sungar said in his fax that four favorite teams
from Pertamina, Lippo Cikarang, Indria Sport and Aquaria have
confirmed their intention to compete in the championships.

Hendra Kumala, who is now competing under the banner of
Pertamina, is one of favorites to win in the 125cc class. He will
have to compete against seniors Andi Suryanto and Deni Orlando,
both joining Suzuki team.

In the championships, the organizers will stage a new class of
pewee 50cc for children aged between 6 to 9 years. (yan)
