The Royal Nusantara Festival II, which will be held from July
1 to July 7, 1997 in Cirebon, West Java, is an effort to preserve
one of the nation's cultural assets. We therefore hope that the
festival will be conducted in the most splendid manner.

The festival will also serve as a means to maintain our
ancestors' cultural values. Our culture is famous far and wide
and we have every reason to be proud of it. Many archeological
remains are stored in the royal palaces and museums throughout
the country. With this inheritance, we should not feel inferior
to other nations. Let's enhance our achievements in all aspects
of life.
