National plus schools

I refer to the article The myth of national plus schools in RI (The Jakarta Post, Sept. 3).

I partly agree with the writer. The problem in our country is that if there is one good concept (for example High Scope, which is also about English but much more about a different methodology of learning) people with some money to invest (or launder) create bad copies, thus hoping they can jump on the bandwagon and skim from the demand for different education concepts.

There should be very stringent controls on the accreditation of schools and consequent quality monitoring. But obviously money talks and if one pays the right people anything is possible.
