National Museum exhibits heritage

JAKARTA: Starting Thursday, the National Museum on Jl. Medan Merdeka Barat, Central Jakarta, will exhibit art reflecting the country's vast array of cultures.

Architectural styles and sculptures of heritage sites, such as Singosari, Borobudur, Muteran and Pugerwetan temples, will also be on view.

A collection of ancient scripts from Sumatra, Java, Bali, Lombok, Sulawesi, East Nusa Tenggara, Irian and Maluku will also be exhibited.

Articles on view belong to both the museum and the Rijs Museum Voor Volkenkunde in Leiden, the Netherlands.

The exhibition will run through Nov. 15. -- JP
