N. Sulawesi Soeharto Cup

JAKARTA (JP): North Sulawesi won the President Soeharto Cup
after accumulating the highest score, 69.5 points, in the second
and final leg of the National Horse Racing Championship on the
Pulomas track, East Jakarta, on Sunday.

The favorite East Java team, whose total score was only 3.5
points behind North Sulawesi, found consolation in taking the
prestigious Achmad Yani Cup for its commendable 2,000 meter open
race.

This year's national championship featured 13 races, four of
which were contested in the championship's first leg, held at the
same venue, on July 30. Participating teams came from 11
provinces, including East Timor, West Sumatra, West Java, West
and East Nusa Tenggara and host Jakarta. (arf)
