N. Jakarta holds Idul Fitri fair

JAKARTA: North Jakarta municipality office is holding a three- day fair ahead of the Idul Fitri holiday. Around 100 vendors are participating in the event, which started on Tuesday and ends on Thursday.

The municipal's economic administration bureau head, Ekom Mirtaatmaja, said on Wednesday that most of the participating vendors were those recognized by the municipal administration.

He said the most favorite commodity for shoppers was the handicraft home industry, but clothes and foods also sold well.

Yulia, a 32-year-old customer, was quoted by Tempointeraktif.com that she could buy clothes for Rp 65,000 (US$7.14) while at the market it costs Rp 100,000. -- JP
