Myanmar Airways to fly here

JAKARTA (JP): Myanmar Airways International (MAI), the Myanmarese flag carrier, is scheduled to start serving Jakarta on Dec. 10.

Grace Lumowa, the operations manager of PT Wabiru Adikarsa, the airlines' sales agent, told The Jakarta Post yesterday that MAI would operate Boeing B-737-400 aircraft on the Jakarta route.

"The planes will serve Yangon-Jakarta via Singapore and Jakarta-Yangon also via Singapore. We expect to see promising load factors for the Singapore-Jakarta route," she said.

She said the flights would arrive in Jakarta every Tuesday and Friday at 1.10 p.m. and leave for Yangon an hour later.

Lumowa said Lauda Air of Austria also planned to fly to Jakarta or Bali in the second half of next year. (icn)
