Mutilated woman waits to be claimed
JAKARTA: The head of a mutilated woman that was found 12 days ago is being preserved at the forensic unit of the Cipto Mangunkusumo Public Hospital in Central Jakarta, waiting to be claimed by the family.
Two families had come to inspect the head, but had not claimed it, an official at the forensic unit said on Friday.
Preliminary forensic investigations showed that there were three jab wounds and a stab wound to the back of the head.
It was believed that the woman, aged around 17-25, had a round face with long black wavy hair, and a well-maintained face and teeth. She presumably belonged to a rich family as her leg, found a day after the head, showed that she had well maintained skin.
The head was found in Banjir Kanal river, Penjaringan, North Jakarta on Nov. 13. --JP
