JAKARTA (JP): Publicly listed Multipolar Corp. of the Lippo
Group will cooperate with the U.S.-based inter-networking service
provider Cisco System to develop broadband infrastructures and
cybertechnology services in Indonesia.
Multipolar's president Jeffrey Wonsono said here on Monday the
development of the new infrastructures and services was expected
to support Multipolar accomplishing its goal to become a premier
provider in the broadband and cybertechnology sectors.
"The new broadband and cybertechnology will enable Multipolar
to offer value added services to Internet and e-commerce users,"
he said.
Multipolar, which is listed on the Jakarta and Surabaya Stock
Exchanges, announced last month it would invest Rp 130 billion
(US$18.5 million) in fiber-optic lines in order to offer high-
speed internet access service to offices particularly located at
Jakarta's "golden triangle" business district. (cst)
