Muladi hands over university post

SEMARANG, Central Java: Justice Minister Muladi handed over
his post as rector of Diponegoro University to Prof. Eko
Budihardjo at a ceremony here Saturday evening.

Muladi, who was very popular with students, urged in his
farewell address for the university to open-heartedly accept his
departure and welcome the new rector.

"Although Professor Eko is not a Undip alum, you should feel
proud to have him as your new rector because he will support your
views," he added.

Present at the ceremony were Semarang Mayor Soetrisno
Soeharto, Central Java deputy governor Husein Munawar and speaker
of the provincial legislature Alip Pandoyo.
