'MTV' to hold youth forum

JAKARTA (JP): MTV will host a one-day youth marketing forum on Thursday at Hotel Mulia Senayan, Jl. Asia Afrika, Central Jakarta.

MTV Asia's communications manger, Shabnam Melwani, said in a statement that the forum will cover topics on youth trends, lifestyles and ways of coping with the crisis.

Speakers will include Masima Corporation's president commissioner Malik Sjafei, Sony Music Indonesia's marketing director Rudy Ramawy, Asian Market Intelligence' general manager Robby Susatyo, McDonalds Indonesia's president director Bambang N. Rachmadi and Coca Cola Indonesia's marketing director Jeremy Cook.

Shabnam said the forum will be divided into three modules.

"The first module will tell of today's leading brands being youth-oriented, their shifts in strategies, the future of Indonesia's youth and brand adaptation to it," Shabnam said.

"The second will be about marketing to young people during tough times. And the third, about communication changes. The latter will include a look at sex appeal and music."

The MTV Youth Marketing Forum has been held in Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, India and Taiwan. It will also be held in Hong Kong and Singapore this year. (ylt)
