Mrs. Murdaya, ever onward!

I am a non-Buddhist. But I admire and appreciate what has been done by Mrs. Siti Hartati Murdaya. She made herself readily available to help the needy and provide suffering people with medical treatment. She must have a great sense of dedication and be deeply concerned with the people's fate, an example to be followed by others who are occupied with the struggle for the betterment of the people only through orations instead of making concrete contributions to the unfortunate,

Mrs. Murdaya has been totally condemned for what she had to say during a discussion held on TVRI recently. Let them reject you as a Buddhist leader, but in my opinion you have done a lot both during the New Order era and the reform era as a good Buddhist.

There is not a single person under the sun who has an absolute truthful view, particularly in the political arena. Differences of perception are common and there will always be pros and cons to every issue. This is quite true as far as the characteristic of man is concerned. As for the student demonstrations, the public will give them moral support as long as their actions are not in violation of the law.

Keep up your good work, Mrs. Murdaya, for the sake of humanity. May God give you strength and bless your social and philanthropic deeds.
