Motorola to launch new models

JAKARTA (JP): United States mobile phone maker Motorola will launch wireless phones of the V-series in new colors as well as its latest innovative L-series next month.

Radar blue, galaxy gray and silvery light titanium models will join the masculine black V3688 launched in March.

"We are targeting women executives and secretaries with our new products," Husni Erwinn, Motorola operations manager for South Asia, told a news conference on Wednesday.

The phones will be priced at approximately Rp 4 million (US$597) each with optional equipment such as the "hand-free" accessory.

He added that the smallest, lightest Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) mobile phone had multifunctions and had been selling well in the high-end market.

Marketing manager Yanty Agus said Indonesia was a promising market for wireless telephones and Motorola's sales had increased 16 percent in the first half from the same period last year.

Motorola's latest product, the L-series triband mobile phone, works on all three different GSM frequencies that enable consumers to use the same phone while in different frequency zones.(01)B
