Motorcyclist's moral crisis

My name is Carolina Ratnawati. I am a student. I would like to relate an unpleasant experience I had with a fellow road user who was riding a motorcycle on Jl. Wahid Hasyim on Jan 7.

It was 6 p.m. and the traffic toward Tanah Abang Bukit was fairly jammed. The motorcyclist, riding a silver-colored Tiger 2000, overtook my car from the left at a sharp angle. He said he was hurt by my car's bumper and kicked my car twice. It tempted me to react, but I contained myself considering that this is the holy month of Ramadhan when we must resist all temptations from the devil.

The motorcyclist was still unsatisfied. He rocked my car at the traffic lights in front of Bank Jaya. I opened my window to ask what he wanted, but had not finished speaking when he hit my left eye very hard causing my glasses to splinter. My wounds bled a lot.

Until now I still suffer headaches. I do not know whether it is due to his jab, or to my shock because of his attitude toward a woman. In these times of monetary crisis, I wonder if a moral crisis has struck him.

Now that he may be satisfied with his action, I hope that he and I will forgive each other when we meet one of these days.
