Motorcycle thieves nabbed

BOGOR: Police arrested two suspects in connection to vehicle theft and confiscated four stolen motorcycles from them, an officer said on Monday.

Chief of South Bogor Police subprecinct Adj. Comr. Sartono said the suspects, Dadang, 35, and Karim, 38, were arrested late on Friday following a report from a Bogor citizen, Risman, who had his motorcycle stolen by the pair.

A day before his Honda Astrea was stolen, Karim, apparently an acquaintance of Risman, came over to Risman's house and slept there one night. In the morning, Risman walked to the mosque to perform Friday prayers, leaving Karim alone in his house. Upon his return, the house was empty and his motorcycle was gone.

Karim was arrested in Ciawi market and admitted that he had given the stolen motorcycles to Dadang, who would sell the vehicles for between Rp 1 million and Rp 2 million each to ojek (motorcycle taxi) drivers in South Bogor. Dadang was arrested a few hours later. --JP
