Motorcycle thief mobbed

TANGERANG: Residents beat a man to death for trying to steal a motorcycle in Kedu village, Sambo subdistrict, Cikupa district of Tangerang early on Monday.

Cikupa Police detective chief Supiyanto said the suspect, who had not yet been identified, asked an ojek (motor taxi driver), Hasanuddin, for a ride.

When the motorcycle was passing Kedu village, the passenger stabbed Hasanudin in the back and neck. The victim fell and shouted for help. Local residents who heard his cries immediately came to the site. They surrounded the suspect and beat him to death. --JP
