Motocross meet rained out

JAKARTA (JP): A downpour on Saturday inundated the Lubuk Buaya
track in Padang, West Sumatra, the venue of the Gudang Garam
Motocross National Championship's second leg, forcing the
organizer to cancel the championship which was due to take place
on Saturday.

Through loud speakers, the organizer repeatedly apologized to
the spectators and said that the venue was not suitable for a
national championship.

A total of 163 riders, including several from Belgium and
Australia, arrived to take part in the championship.

The rains, which began on Thursday, flooded several areas in
the city. (arf)
