Mother brutally killed in public

BANDUNG: A 27-year-old mother named Cucu Mulyati met her
tragic death on Wednesday morning when a homeless man named Uju
dragged her from a crowded alley near Cijerah Islamic Boarding
school in Bandung Kulon.

Mulyati was on her way to her office at around 7 a.m. when
suddenly she was confronted by Uju.

Neighbors said they heard screams from the alley, but thought
it was coming from an insane woman who used to hang around the
area.

"When we looked further, Mulyati was already bleeding with Uju
raping her. No one dared come closer as Uju kept swinging a
machete. We then called the police and he was arrested but it was
too late," Adeng, 40, a witness, said.

West Bandung Police chief Sr. Insp. Ayi Supardan said Uju
cannot be properly questioned as he kept muttering weird words.
"Once he said he was 100 years-old and then he says he is 15. We
have to check his mental condition," Ayi said.

An autopsy revealed that Mulyati suffered from 15 slash
wounds. She is survived by a one-year-old child. (25/edt)
