Aleksey Morozov scored with 10 seconds left in regulation time and Mario Lemieux had three assists to lead the Pittsburgh Penguins to a comeback 3-3 tie with the Montreal Canadiens Tuesday.

Trailing 3-1 in the third period, the Penguins grabbed powerplay goals from Alexei Kovalev at 11:19 and Morozov at 19:50. The three assists give Lemieux an NHL-best 14 points on four goals and 10 assists in just six games.

Kovalev had two goals for Pittsburgh (3-1-2-0) as he also opened the scoring in the first period. The Penguins are now unbeaten in five games since an opening-night 6-0 loss to Toronto.

The Canadiens had scored three in a row to take a two-goal lead. Joe Juneau and Jan Bulis both had a goal and one assist while Andrei Markov was also on target.

The Canadiens out-shot the Penguins 33-30 but failed to score on five powerplay chances on Johan Hedberg.

Pittsburgh was 2-for-4 with the extra man against Jose Theodore, who returned to the Montreal (2-2-2-0) goal after missing two games in favor of Jeff Hackett.

In Buffalo, Miroslav Satan scored the game-winning goal midway through the third period to give the Sabres a 2-1 victory over the previously unbeaten Philadelphia Flyers.

Satan's wrist shot beat Roman Cechmanek at 10:42 as the Sabres forward celebrated his 28th birthday in style. Vaclav Varada scored the other Buffalo (3-2-1-0) goal.

Eric Weinrich scored for the Flyers (3-1-2-0) as Martin Biron made 21 saves in the Buffalo goal.

In Uniondale, Kevin Weekes made 36 saves as the Carolina Hurricanes beat the New York Islanders 4-1.

Sami Kapanen scored two goals for the Hurricanes, who were out-shot 37-18 but were saved repeatedly by Weekes's brilliant goaltending.

Rod Brind'Amour and Kevyn Adams scored the other goals for Carolina (3-3-0-1). Claude Lapointe had the lone goal for New York (2-3-1-0).

In St Paul, Minnesota, Cliff Ronning scored on a powerplay in overtime to hand the surprising Minnesota Wild a 4-3 win over the Calgary Flames.

Minnesota is now 4-1-1-0 and top of the Northwest Division. But the Wild lost Bill Muckalt with a dislocated shoulder after he scored for the fourth successive game.

Marian Gaborik and Antti Laaksonen scored the other Minnesota goals. Manny Fernandez made 18 saves in the Wild net. Stephane Yelle, Marc Savard and Chris Drury tallied for Calgary.

In Nashville, Shane Doan and Ladislav Nagy were the marksmen as the Phoenix Coyotes defeated the winless Predators 2-1.
