Morgue makes way for 5 more corpses

JAKARTA (JP): Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital in Central Jakarta received five unidentified corpses between Wednesday afternoon and early Thursday from police, a hospital official said yesterday.

Ecip, who oversees the hospital's morgue, said police told him the corpses were found in various parts of Greater Jakarta.

"Four were picked up in Bekasi and one in Tebet, South Jakarta," he said as quoted by Antara.

One was believed to be a murder victim because stab wounds were found on the body of the dead man, who was aged about 35, Ecip said.

A total of 75 unclaimed corpses have been sent by police to the hospital's morgue between March 1 and March 11, he said. (pan)
