More woes in Citra Garden
I refer to my letter Links from Citra Garden 5 published in The Jakarta Post on Feb. 4, 2002 in respect to problems in the complex and am pleased to inform you that the second gate into Citra 5 was opened on Feb. 3.
However, the security guards who man the gates of Citra 3 are slack and indifferent. For instance, the rule that a gate pass should be given to a motorist before he or she is allowed to enter the compound of Citra 3 is not always followed. The reason is because they do not have enough gate passes on hand.
May I suggest that a car sticker is given to residents of Citra 3 and 5 instead and gate passes be given only to nonresidents. This would not only save printing costs, but also the time needed for collecting and distributing passes to every vehicle.
If a gate pass is to be used, its quality and feature should also be improved. At present a cardboard pass with no security logo is used as a gate pass.
Some security guards wear T-shirts, and don't wear shoes when they are on duty. They look more like thugs than professional security guards. The management should insist that they are properly attired, and disciplinary action should be taken against those who flout the rules.
The second gate is opened at the whim of the security guards. If I am not mistaken the gate is supposed to be open for five hours a day, i.e. from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., but most of the time it is closed in the morning. This causes considerable inconvenience to the residents of Citra 5. I hope the management will officially announce the time schedule for opening and closing the gate so that any security guards who fail to open the gate at the stipulated hours should face the music.
