More train casualties found

PADANG, West Sumatra: Rescue workers discovered on Sunday one more casualty of a cargo train derailed last week in Lembah Awai district, Tanah Datar regency near here.

The search and rescue team's information post in Padang Panjang identified the victim as Ridwan, 13, a cookie seller. His body was found beneath a wagon which was overturned during Wednesday's incident.

"Ridwan was found at around 11 a.m. only after we smelt decay. The body had been there for four days," the team's spokesman, Arfil Syarif, said.

Arfil added that Ridwan's body had been handed over to his family for a funeral.

The finding brought the death toll to 19 as of Sunday.

The Padang Panjang General Hospital has discharged seven of 20 passengers wounded in the train derailment. (amd)
