More Soeharto property found
MEDAN: The North Sumatra prosecutors office has found another property belonging to the family of former president Soeharto, an estimated Rp 15 billion (US$2 million) chemical industry, Antara reported on Thursday.
The company, PT Aribhawana Utama, which produces fatty alcohol and glycerine, is located on Jl. Pelabuhan IV, Belawan, some 45 kilometers south of here.
Earlier, the special team of the prosecutor's office also found a pharmaceutical and cosmetics industry in Sei Mencirim, PT Sawan Besar Pharmasi, under the management of PT Lamtorogung Persada, with a sales turnover of Rp 200 million. It is owned by Siti Hardiyanti Rukmana, Soeharto's eldest daughter.
The chemical industry located in the port of Belawan was owned reportedly by Soeharto's eldest and youngest sons, respectively Sigit Harjojudanto and Hutomo Mandala Putra.
Chief of the Prosecutor's Office Uji Santyoso said he had reported the find to the Attorney General's Office in Jakarta.
The latest finding brought the total number of findings of assets linked to Soeharto and his family to 10. The companies were located in the regencies of North Tapanuli, Deli Serdang, Asahan and in Medan.
Antara said the 10 finds in the province include a 159,900 square meter tapioca factory in Lalang, Medang Deras subdistrict, Asahan regency; a 56.35-hectare real estate site in Perut Sei Tuan subdistrict; a 2,371 square meter television transmission tower in Sibolangit, Deli Serdang regency; a 5,113 square meter military mess and; a chemical and cosmetics industry PT Sawan Besar Pharmasi (PT Citra Lamtorogung Persada) in Medan owned by Siti Hardiyanti Rukmana.
Others include 60,650 square meters of land belonging to Hutomo Mandala Putra in Sukadami in Medan being used for a dormitory, Air Force housing complex, school and office buildings and hospital.
