More rain in Medan, says BMG

MEDAN, North Sumatra: Heavy rain which has pounded the city almost daily over the past week will likely continue for another three weeks, the Meteorology and Geophysics Agency (BMG) said on Wednesday.

The agency warned residents living in the areas of Labuhan Batu, Asahan and South Tapanuli to be prepared for possible flooding and landslide due to possible torrential rains in the next few days.

According to the agency's data, the rain intensity has passed the average of 100 millimeters in Medan in the past couple of days. In Polonia Airport, rain intensity has reached 138 millimeters. (39/edt)
