More phones for holiday revelers
JAKARTA (JP): The state telephone company will install more public telephone booths at train stations and bus terminals for Idul Fitri revelers.
South Jakarta Telephone Office head Nyoman Wirianata said yesterday his office would open a telegraph service, 24-hour phone non-disruption service and more payment counters.
Nyoman said extra services would be available at the Bintaro, Lebak Bulus, Pasar Minggu, Pondok Indah Mall, Kebun Binatang Ragunan, Cinere Mall bus terminals and all the mayoralty's train stations.
There would be extra telephone booths at temporary bus terminals and on streets, Antara reported.
Special task forces of 24 people would monitor the new facilities, Nyoman said. "The task forces will always be on standby."
More phone booths will be installed in West Jakarta.
West Jakarta telephone office head Kiskenda Suriahardja said his staff were preparing detailed maps of bus routes.
Extra phone booths will be installed at the Kampung Rambutan, Pulo Gadung and Rawamangun bus terminals and the Jatinegara railway station in East Jakarta. (sur)
